Can Opener, with Metal Handle, Classic - Essential Line is rated out of 5 by 9.Rated 5 out of 5 by WesV from Best can opener in the world? I spent the best part of the last year researching for a replacement for our older can opener which for some time had started to not open cans cleanly. This time we wanted something robust and that just did what it said on the tin - is open cans well. My parents had one of the Brabantia can openers years ago and I remembered it as being excellent and just going on and on and on without failure. Although our can opener is new it is exactly as I remembered my parents opener. Feels like a high quality product - solid, easy to use and a lovely smooth action. Makes tin opening a pleasure. I expect to be using this product happily for many years to come.Date published: 2015-06-28Rated 3 out of 5 by Kimbo64 from Brabantia - Can Opener I purchased this after my trusty 20 year old one refused to open any more cans. Originally thought I'd go for another well known brand. More expensive, but absolutely rubbish, it just destroyed my cans. So rather than get a Chinese copy of my old trusty I went direct. This isn't a robust as my 20 year old one, but the features are the same. I still struggle a little with some cans, but overall it's been ok. I was a little disappointed recently though, as I went to my local Dunelm, only to find the same can opener cheaper!!! Serves me right for not looking around first I suppose (Don't suppose you want to refund the difference Brabantia!!!)Date published: 2017-11-17Rated 4 out of 5 by JimiMac from Too good for the dishwasher Can't remember exactly when I got my Brabantia can opener but have had for at least the last 5 years. They have been very good can openers and have gone through a dishwasher regularly. In the last 6 months they have got progressively tighter and harder to turn to the point they are now impossible to use. I suspect it's down to a new dishwasher, maybe getting a bit too hot for them. Will buy a new one and keep them away from the dishwasher this time.Date published: 2017-08-21Rated 5 out of 5 by trekkie290 from Brabantia Essential line Can Opener I brought this only a couple of weeks ago & find it very quick when openoing any can including the fray bentos or princes large pie tins as I struggled before to open any tins with all different tin openersDate published: 2017-06-20Rated 5 out of 5 by Pete268 from Great for Fray Bentos tinned pies!! I bought this after a recommendation from the makers of Fray Bentos pies as I have had difficulty opening them. This tin opener does the job a treat. Great for normal tins as well.Date published: 2017-06-17Rated 5 out of 5 by linengray from Awesome Product I have owned my two pieces of Brabantia for over 30 years. I have both the can opener and lid remover. I have lived many places and gone through lots of other kitchen equipment but I will never get rid of these.Date published: 2017-03-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Caza from Can opener is awesome We’ve bought a lot of can openers over the years and it’s one of my biggest annoyance that once you’ve used it a few times they don’t work right. I’ve paid slot of money for some, then bought cheap ones, I even bought a famous chefs version in case that worked. I have to say they’ve all be rubbish! This can opener is the best of the best. The supreme of can openers and I’d highly recommend it to everyone. Brabantia can openers are number 1 in my option, 5 stars xDate published: 2017-10-28Rated 3 out of 5 by roya from works on some cans works ok on some cans but will not work on aliminium cans with a longer seam length, not as good as my old Lakeland one, that is worn out but will replace it and put this one as a back upDate published: 2018-05-28
