Ground Spike Metal, Size 3, 50 mm diameter, for Rotary Lift-O-Matic Advance and SmartLift - Galvanized is rated out of 5 by 90.Rated 4 out of 5 by Sarahely from Better than the ground tube I bought this spear and it works really well, however I had to buy this as the ground tube supplied with the lift-o-matic advance rotary airer is not a good enough product, even when cemented into the ground, to effectively hold the rotary airer. The packaged rotary airer really needs to include the spear and not the ground tube. Disappointed to have spent £135.00 on what I expected to be a complete package consisting of an airer, cover, peg bag and the correct equipment to use the product, and then to incur further cost firstly to purchase cement, and then to have to purchase a spear and pay for postage to finally be able to use my airer.Date published: 2014-07-22Rated 5 out of 5 by Lynn from Perfect product, perfect service I bought this metal spear because I'd neglected to put the red cap on last winter when I took in the washing line and couldn't find the hole in the lawn when I went to put it up again this spring. Easily done. Anyway, the Brabantia model is perfectly designed for the job and superior to other makes in its ease of placement, solidity and rust proof qualities. Even when the lawn was waterlogged the washing line stood straight and solid. This winter I'll remember to put on the red cap so I don't lose it again!RDate published: 2014-04-22Rated 5 out of 5 by R Barry from Supports the Topspinner Rotary line perfectly I bought this Metal Soil spear to replace one which was damaged accidently during building work. The soil spear requires gentle tapping using a hammer to ensure that it goes into the soil without being damaged. Once inserted the shaft of the Topspinner Rotary line may be inserted into it. The spear is so well designed to the correct tolerances that it allows the Top Spinner shaft to revolve precisely without any wobble. As the spear is made from an alloy it never rusts and is therefore guaranteed to give many years of great service even in damp Irish weather.Date published: 2014-08-17Rated 5 out of 5 by Holmegirl20 from Very robust and easy use. The Brabantia Soil Spear is everything that the description describes. It is very easy to positiion and very stable in use due to the well positioined external fins, requiring no cement at all.Date published: 2013-01-16Rated 5 out of 5 by RogerT from A quality product. Promptly delivered and now doing a reliable job supporting the Brabantia rotary dryer in the back garden.Date published: 2014-05-23Rated 1 out of 5 by Dissatisfied customer from Disappointing I bought this spoke to go with my new rotary dryer as my husband did not want to have to use concrete to secure the dryer into the ground. The ground in the garden was too hard and we only managed to bang the spoke in halfway, before giving up having noticed all the banging with the mallet had damaged the top of the spoke and it was not going to be fit for purpose. We ended up using concrete anyway so the spoke turned out to be a waste of money and effort.Date published: 2016-11-13Rated 5 out of 5 by stan16 from Easy to install I purchased this product as the plastic ground spike from brabantia I cemented in a year ago became unearthed during heavy winds was not reusable. I decided on this product this time around as I couldn't rely on the weather to remain dry long enough for me to cement in another plastic spike or have the same issue again in a years time and had no other means of drying the washing. The product was quick and easy to install, the only challenge is keeping it as level as possible when hammering it into the earth. I am hoping that by not disturbing the soil as much unlike you would need to to cement a plastic spike that this can withstand the test over time. Excellent customer service and delivery.Date published: 2017-09-01Rated 4 out of 5 by neith from All's well that ends well This was the second soil spear from brabantia, the first hit stones deep in the soil an decided to lean and even with using a piece of wood to protect the opening it didn't go in well, in fact i had to dig it out and start again with a new spear This time with the hole already dug and using post quick dry cement mix, I was able to put it to vertical without any problem and I have a top notch item, perfectly vertical and fitting the drier like a glove. If you don't know what the soil spear is going into, then I suggest you also dig the hole and use some fixing cement mix.Date published: 2018-07-24
