A splash of paint or a wallpapered wall will inspire and give a tired kitchen a new look. Using the best quality kitchen paint or wallpaper needn't cost a lot. Go for a striking bold colour on a feature wall, or something a little more neutral.

What can you replace?

Depending on your budget, consider replacing cabinet doors or worktops. Even replacing door handles can make a difference to the look of your kitchen. If you can't afford to replace cabinets, painting them is a great option.

Top with cushions and you've got the perfect cosy seating area.

Search markets and car boot sales for dressers, mobile islands, bar stools and shelves. These can transform your kitchen and create extra storage space too. Someone else's cast-off could be a treasure in your kitchen.
