Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great idea but has serious issues. The idea is great but sadly there are two problems. First, the box never ever closed. It became a challenge for my friends and over 5 people tried it but the flaps would just burst open immediately. Brabantia sent me a new cover but this also didn't work. For an outdoor clothes lines that gets dirty a cover is essential. Second, it broke! One of the metal arms just warped when I pushed it closed. Now it is very unstable and still warped. The line is no longer taut so it keeps pulling the broken arm down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The most awkward thing in the world to put up!! The product itself is brilliant (once up) - it slots into a compact space and works really well. The problem is in the mounting of it on the wall. The designers themselves have clearly never tried putting it up themselves. It's unnecessarily awkward and very time consuming. If the screw holes were on the outside of the bracket it would be have been so easy but instead the designers have tried to conceal the screw holes - as if it matters if you see a screw on a washing line!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nightmare to fold! We have a rotary drying rack, but we like the compact yet extensive drying area of the Wallfix, although folding it when not in use has always been a struggle. Nevertheless provided you have a suitable site (which essentially means a wall which gets the sun) we would recommend it over a rotary rack, which can be difficult to site unobtrusively .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from sub standard I've had a lot of problems with this product. The first one had an issue where it would not lock into position. So I took it back to the shop. They tried as well and in the end they replaced it. The second one buckled at the arm which locks down. At first I thought it was my wife using too much force when locking into position but later found that my friend who has the same product had exactly the same problem. This product has a design flaw. I couldn't be bothered going back to the shop and getting a new one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible. And it broke. I bought this 6 months ago and went to use it for the first time today. It went up ok but couldn't get it down. Eventually after pushing the handle up as instructed it came off the wall. Now it's lying in my drive way and I STILL can't get it to close. Terrible design and I will NEVER buy another product from Brabantia again. It wasn't cheap and did not do what the instructions said it would. Disappointed customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect product This product is excellent, its tidy box keeps everything nicely tucked away. I would however have liked more information on the fitting instructions ie wording for the parts instead of just pictures, such a small matter but would make such a difference when installing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from simplicity & elegance I recently bought this item, having had a rotary clothes airer for many years - I did not like the space the rotary airer took up and the way it obscured my view of the rest of the garden. The Brabantia wall-fix airer is extremely well designed, seems to be made of durable metal and plastic and is very easily fitted, with clear, concise instructions and a template, for the 4 fixing holes of the airer back plate, located on the cardboard box packaging as a cut-out. Ours is a pebble-dashed wall which made for a more cumbersome drilling and fixing operation, but by using the template to mark the fixing holes and then removing the pebbles around the area of intended holes, the drilling went quite smoothly. The fixings are included which are heavy-duty wall plugs and hex-head screws, but because of the pebbledashed wall, I had to use my own longer screws which gave me a strong fixing. We found that a mounting height of 1m from the ground to the bottom of the back plate gave for sufficient clearance for both short and long items, including bed linen. The operation of the airer is simple with a grab handle on the front to bring forward the arms and a rear central spine which rotates to engage, "with a click" in the back plate for stability. The only difficulty I found was in the CLOSING of the airer where the instructions 'were not so clear'. Pushing on the front handle to collapse the airer does not seem to disengage the rear spine easily and one is left wondering whether to exert extra force which might cause damage. By a bit of trial and error, it was observed that a slight outwards and upwards motion of the handle, just prior to pushing, allowed the rear spine to disengage and the airer collapses effortlessly. We absolutely love the airer which takes so many clothes, despite its compact size, not forgetting the smart cover which keeps it all clean when not in use – which is very seldom!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use. Works like a dream. Easy to pull out and push back. Even the fabric cover is well-designed, hooks over the top and has press studs fitted so that it covers the dryer very well. Great value at offer price of £79.
