Brabantia is now B Corp certified.

Brabantia can call itself B Corp from today. B Corps, Benefit Corporations in full, are companies recognized for their positive impact on people and the environment. The certification is a nice recognition for the Dutch interior design brand. It is in line with Brabantia's goal to make the transition towards 100% circular design by 2035.

B Corp certification process

To become a B Corp, Brabantia had to go through a certification process. The certification is only awarded to companies that have achieved more than 80 points in the so-called B Corp Impact Assessment. Achieving the B Corp certification is an extensive process of almost 2 years, which includes a complete company research on corporate social responsibility and looks at the impact of a company on five pillars: governance, environment, employees, customers and community.

Tijn van Elderen, CEO at Brabantia, is happy with this icing on the cake: 'As a family business, we do everything we can to leave a better world for the next generation. For example, during production we strive to use 100% recycled or renewable materials. The certification process was intensive, but it has reaffirmed to us how important it is to contribute to a more beautiful world. We are honored that Brabantia can now be part of this special community of beautiful, leading and sustainable companies.'

Tessa van Soest, Director B Lab Benelux: ‘We are very pleased to welcome Brabantia to the B Corp community! Their intention to work on continuous improvement and their aim for 100% circular design by 2035 are big steps. Congratulations to this beautiful family business.'

About Brabantia

Brabantia started in 1919 as Van Elderen & Co in Aalst (Brabant) with the production of milk cans, jugs, sieves and funnels. Over the years, Brabantia has grown into a worldwide royal interior brand, known for its smart, stylish and sustainable household products. The first pedal bins were made in 1952. Another highlight was the introduction of the iconic Patrice print in 1969, followed by the famous plastic corkscrew in 1985. Contemporary favorites include the unique Bo Touch Bin and the Linn Collection. Products that make daily chores more pleasurable as a stylish part of the interior.

Towards 100% circularity in 2035

For decades, Brabantia has been helping people separate waste, keep food fresh for longer and line dry their laundry. Brabantia aims for 100% circular design by 2035. For Brabantia, this means 100% safe material, 100% clean wastewater, 100% renewable energy, 100% recycled production waste, 100% recycled or biobased materials and 100% recyclable products. In addition, Brabantia products last a long time.
