Want to dry your laundry, but hanging it outside is not an option? With the right tips, a good drying rack and a few clever accessories, you can get your clothes dry even without a dryer. Even in a small flat or room.

Fresh laundry without any musty smell
The faster your laundry dries, the better. This is because if laundry is wet for a long time, it starts smelling musty faster. And, of course, you want to get your favourite trousers back on as soon as possible.
You can do this to dry your clothes as quickly as possible.
- Place your drying rack in a warm place, i.e. in a room where you have heating and where the sun can shine.
- Leave a window ajar, leave a ventilation grille open or use a fan to keep the air moving. This will prevent moisture from building up and making your clothes smell musty.
- Hang your laundry with pegs, not folded in half over the line. The more layers of fabric on top of each other, the slower it will dry.
- Hang clothes as far apart as possible to allow air to reach everything. So choose as large a drying rack as possible.
Drying your laundry indoors - doing it faster and better
- Lay out each garment well before hanging - this will reduce creasing and your time at the ironing board.
- To keep your woollen jumper looking good, lay it flat on a dry towel, roll it up, press it gently and leave it to dry flat.
- If you hang your clothes on the strongest part - the waist or inside hem - you won't have to iron out the peg marks later. With our clothes pegs, you'll have less of that anyway.
- Dry clothes on a hanger. You can then put more on your drying rack and everything can go straight into the cupboard. For shirts or blouses, fasten the top button.
- Do you have a large family? Hang laundry grouped by family members - that way you sort in one go.
How to choose the best drying rack?
If you want to dry smartly indoors, choose the largest drying rack that fits the space. This way, you won't have to overload it – even after a big wash. Also answer the following questions for yourself

Then choose a high rack which you can partially fold down.

Frequently asked questions about indoor laundry drying

How do I dry my laundry indoors without a musty smell?
Ensure good ventilation by opening a window or grille, or use a fan or dehumidifier. Hang garments separately to allow air to circulate freely.
What is the best drying rack for a small flat?
For small spaces, a Hanging Drying Rack or a HangOn Tower are ideal. They take up little floor space yet offer plenty of drying length.
How many metres of drying length do I need for a family?
Count on 15 - 20 metres for a full machine. Also keep in mind that your laundry won't dry in an hour, so go for at least 40 metres.
How can I dry my laundry indoors energy-efficiently?
Use a drying rack instead of a dryer, and put it in a warm, sunny place with natural airflow. A dehumidifier or fan can reduce drying time without consuming much energy.
