Brabantia Awarded Royal Designation

Interior design brand Brabantia celebrates its 100th birthday in 2019. His Majesty King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands has conferred the right to use the designation Koninklijk (‘Royal’) on Brabantia. Prof. Dr. W. van de Donk, King’s Commissioner in the Province of Brabant, presented the certificate to Brabantia’s CEO Tijn van Elderen, during the centennial event at the Evoluon in Eindhoven where 300 guests had gathered to mark the company’s 100th birthday. Brabantia celebrates the Royal designation with a Limited Edition Bo Touch Bin; the Bo Touch Bin styled by Dutchdeluxes.

Tijn van Elderen, CEO Brabantia: ‘It is an honor for our family to have the right to use the royal designation at Brabantia. It crowns our 100 years of craftsmanship and the courage displayed by my father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncles and all of the Brabantia family today.’

We are proud to have Brabantia as a Royal company in our province. The fourth generation, with Tijn steering the company, is already doing a tremendous job and we’re looking forward to what the future will bring for this interior design company.

Limited edition: Bo Touch Bin styled by Dutchdeluxes

Brabantia launched Bo Touch Bin in 2017 and, due to its great success, the collection is now extended with a limited edition version in stunning vegan leather. Bo Touch Bin helps to reduce the impact on the planet by encouraging recycling, but it has a pretty small footprint itself, too. Like many Brabantia products, Bo Touch Bin is Cradle-to-Cradle® Certified on Bronze level.

A century of quality

Brabantia started in 1919 as Van Elderen & Co in Aalst, Netherlands and began by producing milk cans, jugs, sieves and funnels. Over the years, Brabantia has grown into a global interior design brand, renowned for bringing smart and stylish design to kitchen and homeware. The first pedal bins were made in 1952. Another landmark was the launch of the iconic Patrice pattern in 1969, and the famous plastic corkscrew dates back to 1985. Modern-day favourites are the unique Bo Touch Bin and the Linn Collection for styling up your laundry. Products that are so delightful, they turn daily chores into cherished rituals.

BRABANTIA CELEBRATES 100 YEARS

In 2019, Dutch interior design brand Brabantia celebrates its 100th anniversary. Great-grandfather Van Elderen produced his first milk cans and jugs in his small factory in Brabant in 1919. Little did he know that he was laying the foundation for an internationally loved household brand. In those 100 years, Brabantia has won a special place in the homes and hearts of millions. With products that are so delightful, they turn daily chores into cherished rituals. And because they are stylish, well made and designed to be recycled, you can love using them as long as you want – without feeling guilty when you finally let them go. That’s ‘Designed for Living’
